Goodbye Christmas.

Collect the cards that fight for space
on tables, sills and fire place.
recycle all of those you can
but keep the one received from Gran.

Baubles, ornaments and icicle strands,
Hold them gently in your hands.
With a whimsically sad sigh,
Pack away, and bid a fond goodbye.

Sweep; pine needles for the fire to burn
Eat the last chocs under the balding fern.
Find cracker jokes that make you smile
Memories are around for the longest while.

Wrap the wreath for another year,
Hide away unopened beer.
Put out the Christmas light
For now it is twelfth night.
