Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is: “Not Pretty” Use it to write a story or poem. Thank you Linda Hill p.s. press the pretty to go and join in or read the others.
Today’s look is not a Pretty sight
Bagged eyes from being up all night.
Throat’s parched head over the sink,
Cough and phlegm needing a drink?
Shivvers come can’t make it to bed,
ten little men with drums in my head.
A Slip and slide down to the floor
Rattling teeth I head for the door
Crawl my way back to bed
Another drink
Before I’m
dead.
Have you felt like this? What remedy did you try? Tell me in the comments and I’ll get back quick. 😇
Hope you’re feeling better but a lovely way to describe the nightmare.

Oh definitely. It could either be the flu or a nasty hangover! 🙂

If a hangover felt like that i think there would be more teetotalers than drunks… hehehe!

(*Touch wood*) I have never had any headaches with the flu. But yesterday (after I had completed my ayurvedic treatment for my sinus, which flared up for the prev two weeks) I woke up with a headache. 10 little men is right 😉

So sorry you were poorly, sometimes closing our eyes and being still is the only way. 😯

My remedy for cold/flu is a cup of hot water or cup of tea (no milk) with a tablespoon of lemon juice (it can be bottled lemon juice doesn’t have to be freshly squeezed – who wants to be squeezing lemons when your feeling like death?) and a dollop of honey stirred in and keep drinking cups of that throughout the day.
Also paracetamol if headachey and a hot water bottle if a bit shivery.
Then stay wrapped up and make sure I eat even if it’s just a cup of soup.
Curl up wrapped in a blanket on the couch or sitting up in bed (I hate lying down when I’m not well) with a good book and a box of tissues as reading distracts me from my symptoms. :0)

Luckily I didn’t have a hangover the one and only time I was drunk (I was 17). My mother put me to bed, and I was so embarrassed, I never did it again! However, I did have a rather nasty bout of flu in 1999 which knocked me on my back for 10 days!
